Women's Auxiliary Announces Change in Celebrity Homerun Derby Lineup 

CONCORD, N.C. (October 3, 2006) – The Women’s Auxiliary of Motorsports, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of two participants in its Celebrity Homerun Derby.  Two-time Busch Series Champion, Randy LaJoie has joined the roster of participants for the charity event.as well as Craftsman Truck Series driver, Marcos Ambrose.

“We are very excited to have both Randy and Marcos be part of our event,” stated Brian Bell, WAM Industry Relations Manager.  “Randy has always been an advid supporter of the Women’s Auxiliary and with Marcos joining the lineup, we feel we have a great group of people participating in our event."

LaJoie and Ambrose join Kenny Wallace, David Reutimann, Ted Musgrave, Tony Raines, Hermie Sadler, John Roberts, Steve Byrnes, Rick Allen, Bob Dillner and Marty Smith to name a few.

Additional changes to the lineup include that of David Stremme and Kerry Earnhardt.  A previously unscheduled test has altered Stremme’s plans and he will now be unable to attend the event.  In addition, Earnhardt was scheduled to participate but he will now be accompanying his youngest son, Jeffrey Earnhardt, at the GM Driver Development Test at Nashville Super Speedway on the same day.  Jeffrey was chosen as one of the drivers to make it to the final stage of the program.  However, both drivers have provided autograph cards and autographed memorabilia for the event.

The WAM Celebrity Homerun Derby is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, 2006, will be held at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, home of the Kannapolis Intimidators, in Kannapolis, N.C.  Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with the homerun derby scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.  At 6:00 p.m., there will be exclusive on-field access for a pre-event autograph party to the first 500 fans to register after entering the park.

A $10.00 admission fee will be charged with proceeds going toward WAM and its charitable efforts.  Children five and under are admitted free.  Tickets can be purchased through the stadium by calling 704-932-3267 or through the WAM office by calling    704-788-9299.

The Women’s Auxiliary of Motorsports, Inc.
